Session 3:
Designing Compelling Materials
Join us for five sessions on Complementary Curriculum. These sessions are stand alone sessions and you can join as many or as few as you’d like. The sessions will introduce participants to concrete ways to develop a settled, joyful classroom. Each session is dedicated to practical strategies for offering both clear guidance and open-ended discovery experiences, and how to support children's sense of independence and communal responsibility.

Lisa Kuh, Ph.D. is the Program Director at the Sheva Center, the early childhood department of the JCC Association of North America. She has served early childhood communities as a classroom teacher, teacher educator, instructional coach, university professor, researcher, and professional developer. Lisa has been part of faculty at Tufts University, University of New Hampshire, and Lesley University and was the Director of Early Education for the city of Somerville, Massachusetts.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Chestnut Hill College in her hometown of Philadelphia, a master’s in human development from the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and doctorate in curriculum and instruction from the University of Washington. She lives in Seattle, Washington.
